Thoth provoking

by Mademoiselle Gramophone

yes hello hello hello…, (is this thing on?)

YES! A little bird brings good news to me this hot morning. On two wings -it is two fold. On two fronts there is only one backside. It is somewhat flabby, although with exercise, a good diet and self control, progress can be made. Be not bold yet be full of wonder. I am so FULL of it. (and how)

The Daily Brain Scan >>>> http://dbscan.wordpress.com is all screwed up, as you know. The HP model psc2410 has to be taken in to the local repair shop. It aspoded when it was loaded with sheep testiclay. Balls to it, I say. They were still in their package slopped up on the glass when the bulb went poof. Sputter and smoke! Thank heaven for Micro Trends.

So, the scanning is on hiatus for the time being. Thank you for your participation. You made it a fun project.

Two

You know I love the beat poets and free verse as far back as Ezra, Amy, Oscar, and beyond. I tend to be ruled by sound and the visual rather than a traditional structure. This is too chaotic for some but for me it is natural, organic and fitting. I can iambic a pentameter like any other soft scientist but that is not my preference. Just to prove it to you; that I can be structured and organized, I wrote a rhyme hendecasyllabic this morning.  This rot is served at Miss Havisham’s Tea Party (https://misshavi.wordpress.com/category/havish-dianne-patrizzi)

It’s called, Slayer. I wrote it in the vampire tongue of Hecate Visigoth. Tim Rutt says that is the perfect name for a vampire barbarian queen. Whatever. I’m not a queen nor do I ever wish to be. I wrote it based on last night’s tarot reading with spooky candlelight and harpsichord music for company.

I used the Thoth deck created by Aleister Crowley and painted by Lady Marguerite Harris. This deck is visually seductive, pleasing, and reminds me most of  Blake’s visions. Both artists are an endless inspiration to me in my own

painting. Stay cool….

Fanning the fumes,

  1. Hi nice blog :) I can see a lot of effort has been put in.

  2. You’re OK, MG, but I think your brain scans may be on an extended hiatus. I can see you do it 4 de Love of it.

Gotta go, gotta hit a dog friendly Cafe…

  3. That deck is gorgeous!

  4. Did you see the show at the Huntington with Blakes work? I’m completely unfamiliar with this Tarot deck. It never occurred to me that their might be variations on the theme. Book of Thoth…the Thelmas, Devils Gate dam as a portal to hell; this is my reason to wake up each and every morning.
BTY: did you buy your scanner at Costco? They’ll probably take it back with no questions asked.

Hope your keeping cool in that high ceiling Victorian of yours. We’re baked beans in the rancho

  5. I remember the red dragon but know not from where.
Costco rules on returns! Even w/o receipt – they had it in the system when I returned mine 1.5 yrs later.

  6. Reading this at 5:15 a.m. Memphis time. Mlle. Hecate, I feel the desperate need for either a strong cup of coffee or a double bloody mary before I can possibly decide on iambic vs. free verse. Or I could go back to sleep. I choose the latter, I think. Zzzzzzz. Zzzzzz. I don’t know how to spell that with a Tennessee drawl.

  7. Well, whither thou goest

  8. Very very Nice site. Hello and congratulations from Spain

  9. hee hee, PA. I know of an entrance to faerie on the Sam Merrill Trail. I think of it in the same way you think of Dam. I think. As long as those places are here I’m glad to be here, too.

I used to be pretty intuitive at a good Tarot reading. My deck’s the traditional one. It’s in a box in the garage. I haven’t the faintest idea how to read the cards anymore. Well–okay, the faintest.

  10. Don’t you want to come and pet my birds?

  11. I have a sibling that resembles this post.
